For decades, Elmer’s has played a major role in the back-to-school season and, in celebration of this special time of year, Elmer’s 1st Day app provides an easy way for parents to capture priceless moments as their child grows.
“Elmer’s 1st Day app is more than your average photo app—it was specifically designed to help parents capture, create and share milestone moments like the first day of school,” said Lisa Singer, Elmer’s senior product manager. “We’re thrilled to kick off the 2012 back-to-school season by introducing a one-of-a-kind, free app that’s perfect for parents with children of all ages.”
Using the 1st Day app, parents can snap photos and create albums to share with family and friends. Once logged on to the secure 1st Day website (the1stday.com), where images and albums are automatically synched up from the app, users can create slideshows, add colorful borders and share galleries via email and on Facebook. The app is also an excellent way for teachers to journal milestones as they upload photos of their room, art projects and events throughout the year and share them with peers and parents.
Continuing its commitment to the community and the education of young people, Elmer’s will donate one product for each photo upload (up to 200,000 uploads) to the Kids In Need Foundation, which provides free school supplies to students in need.
The free 1st Day app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android mobile devices by scanning the QR code found on select Elmer’s glue bottles and in-store school supply displays or directly from the iTunes Store or Google Play.
