CHA Summer 2012 Sneak Peeks

The Craft and Hobby Association's (CHA) summer show is around the corner. It starts July 16th and is the show where most of the scrapbooking manufacturers share their Fall and Winter lines. Themes will most likely include Halloween, Christmas, Fall, Winter, and School. It's my favorite show because of the themes, though it's the smaller of the two shows.

Around this time manufacturers start to put out sneak peeks of their collections. It starts slowly and explodes the week before the show. As of now there are a few sneaks:

1. My Little Shoebox posted on this sneak on their blog.

2. If you are a subscriber to Studio Calico, then you got a sneak peek of a new collection called "yearbook" in your box. It was posted on their forum here.

3. Technically it's shipping this month and is not a summer show debut, but Fancy Pants posted a sneak to a new collection, so I'm including it. They are revealing the full thing today, so check back for that if you like what you see.

4. Pink Paislee has two sneaks. One is their banner announcing a new collection on facebook and the other is an image of new Artisan Collection products they just posted on facebook.

If you like to follow the sneaks, then these are great resources to follow:

1. Willow Traders - I post here. I believe you have to be a member to see the forum.
2. Paper Crafter's Corner - Susan does a great job of posting for the shows, in fact she posts every new release in between, too. 
3. Scrapbook Update - Nancy posts all the sneaks in a linked, listed format.
4. Your Scrapbook Supply - I found ths one with the last show.
5. Two Peas in a Bucket - they usually start a forum the week before the show where folks share and discuss the sneaks. They report from the show, as well. 

That should keep you busy. I'm looking forward to what's in store for us.

CHA Winter 2012 Sneak Peeks

Happy 2012! It's a new year and it's time for CHA Winter sneak peeks to begin. The winter show is the biggest of the year and typically includes lines for Spring and Summer.

If you want to see all the latest sneaks (they usually start coming fast one week before the show) be sure to check out the following sites:

• Two Peas in a Bucket - I'll update with a link once they open the forum (usually a week or so before the show)
• Willow Traders (this is where I post, but you need to be a member to see it, so sign up!)

So, what has been shown up to today? Here's my current list:

Prima - a small sneak.

Teresa Collins debuted her new partnership with Xyron on Good Things Utah

Ruby Rock-It - posted these sneaks on their blog.

Webster's Pages - has released Sunday Picnic and announced their new Clean and Simple addition.

 

Little Yellow Bicycle -  has sneaked a new collection on their blog:

Tim Holtz - just announced on his blog his new book debuting at CHA W.

Helmar - is debuting 3 new varnishes that are used to protect your artwork

Tattered Angels - they posted a sneak on their blog.

Tsukineko - they posted on their site that sneaks are coming soon.

GCD Studios - Sneaks will start on their blog soon.

One of the new designers is Heidi Sonboul. She announced it on her blog and here is a peak of her new line.

 

Pink Paislee - has shared a sneak peek of their new collection Spring Jubilee in their latest newsletter. They said they will be debuting 5 new collections at the winter show.

 

Copic Markers - They have introduced twelve new sketch colors here.

The show is at the end of the month. It should be a good one this year.

CHA Summer 2011 Show Photos

The show is happening now. I have to say, I'm really loving a lot of the releases. I think I will blog my favorites soon.

In the meantime, I thought you might be interested in where you can find pictures of the show floor. Here you go:

1. Christine from Scrap Time loads TONS of photos on her flickr site. She usually loads the photos in the evenings each day after the show, so check each morning or each evening late.
2. Two Peas In a Bucket - they post from the show and share videos of new products
3. Craft Critique
4. The Scrap Review
5. Amy Coon - Amy owns The Paper Life and she usually takes great videos of many of the booths, so you get a great walk through. The first link is to her facebook page where she has most of the videos. This second link is to her youtube page, where she usually adds videos later on after the show.
6. Paper Crafts Blog - They show photos on their facebook page and usually update the blog with some later. 
7. Creating Keepsakes blog - I think they update the blog later, but they are sharing photos on their facebook page. 
8. Shimelle - If Shimelle is at the show she will post loads of photos after it's over. So, this is one to check on later to see if she went. 

If I find more, I'll keep adding to the list. This should keep you for now!

CHA Summer 2011 Sneak Peeks

It's CHA time, the big craft and hobby trade show at the end of July. There have been several sneak peeks already. This year the manufacturers seem to be sneaking a bit earlier than normal, which is fun!

So far:

• American Crafts has announced a new line with Amy Tan
• Authentique Paper (Margie Romney-Aslett is now designing for them) has launched
• The Crafter's Workshop will be releasing a line designed by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer
• Nikki Sivils has sneaked a few
• Tattered Angels has sneaked 42 new colors and more
• Webster's Pages - they are running a website party the 20th-24th and will be sneaking an early release collection. This link is directly to that forum on their site and will be empty until the 20th.

Good places to see sneaks:

• Willow Traders (you need to be a member to see the board)
• PaperCrafter's Corner - great blog format for seeing sneaks for show and for new releases throughout the year.
• Scrapbook Update (not sure when she'll start the sneak board, but it's usually a list format and easy to navigate) - if you scroll down the page you will eventually see a button for summer sneaks on the right side
• Scrapbook.com featured blogs - most of the manufacturers post sneaks here before the show

Pantone's Color of the Year

is hot pink (or as they have so lovingly called it, honeysuckle). You can read all about it on their site. I do like the message they have created out of the color; brave, bold, vital and confident.

I'm not a girly girl. I don't like pink and sparkles (well, I love glitter, but not in pink) and I am a Mom of two boys. That said, I'm actually chomping at the bit for some of the scrapbooking sneak peeked collections I've seen with hot pink in them.

It's so nice to see manufacturers taking bold colors and combining them, like Jillibean Soup with their bold pairings of greens, yellows and pinks.

It makes them so much more versatile. I am exctied knowing there are a ton more sneaks to come and that means we'll most likely see more amazing collections around this color, hopefully with more bold, versatile color pairings.

Anna Griffin's Carmen Collection got my attention with orange, yellow and green mixed with the hot pink! These are favorite colors of mine and I'm so excited to see the full reveal of this one!

Pink Paislee is knocking it out of the ballpark with this sneak. Three of the collections here have pink and again it's paired with bright, bold, fun colors.

Melody Ross' Soul Food Collection for GCD Studios is more of the wonderful bold color combinations of pinks, yellows, oranges, greens and browns. I can easily see using this with my boys. It's quite stunning.

 
These are my two favorite embellishments from GCD Studio's Fun House Collection. These, also, combine hot pink with a refresshing color palette.

These are just a few of the sneaks I've been enjoying with hot pink. Pink tends to be a popular scrapbooking color regardless of it being the color of the year, but this year it seems to have been emboldened with bright color pairings. I'm looking foward to seeing the full reveal of these collections along with what the rest of the scrapbooking manufacturers have dreamed up for us. This is looking to be an amazing year for scrapbooking products!

CHA Winter 2011 Sneak Peeks

I hope everyone who celebrates, had a wonderful Holiday. My family is getting ready for the New Year and enjoying our time off together.

The biggest craft show of the year is right around the corner. With that comes all the anticipation of seeing what the scrapbooking manufacturers have created for our scrapbooking pleasure. Sneak peeks and some full reveals have already started and will continue through the last week in January just before the start of the show.

As usual, here is my post with some links to find all these wonderful sneaks:

It's a wonderful time of year! I keep reading rumors from many manufacturers blogs that this is their biggest show, yet. I hope that proves true because it means we scrapbookers/crafters are spending more money and that manufacturers are starting to expand. A thriving scrapbooking business is a good thing and has been much missed!

CHA Summer 2010 Sneak Peeks

It's my favorite time of year; show time. CHA Summer is happening at the end of July. This show is usually smaller than the Winter show, but it's my favorite. This is the show where manufacturers debut their Fall and Winter collections.

Usually, there is everything from Fall to Valentine's Day. Sometimes there are surprises, too. My favorite holiday is Halloween and I always look forward to seeing those releases. Last year, there were very few Fall collections and I'm hoping there will be many this year. I am, also, looking forward to seeing the school and Christmas collections.

Many manufacturers wait until just before the show to share sneaks, but some start early. If you are looking for sneak peeks, here are a few places you can go to see what has already been put out there for us to get excited about:
